Fire  Safety Systems

What are Fire Safety Systems?

Fire Safety systems take many forms, but are commonly installed in buildings with communal areas where there is a need to protect Life and Property.

In Grouped Living developments, this can take two forms:

  • Individual Dwellings
  • Communal Areas

There are different grades and regulations for each and OSG Ltd is happy to help guide you through the legislation, and work with you to design systems that meet regulations and Fire Risk Assessments.

Following the update of BS5839-6:2019 a number of changes were made, and it is essential that you are aware of them should you be carrying out a replacement program. This British Standard covers specific recommendations for fire alarm systems in all domestic premises and covers both new-build and existing properties. It contains a large amount of detail on all aspects relating to the design and installation of fire alarm systems, but one specific area it covers is the type of alarm to install and the areas of the property to protect.

Residents Homes

For all types of homes, Grouped or individual OSG Ltd as an AICO Expert Installer we can help, as we recognise that a successful alarm system comes down to having the best alarms correctly installed. That’s why we are trained in the latest Regulations and Legislation, which ensures that we know which alarms to install and where. We are kept up to date on the latest technologies to ensure we can advise you on the most suitable system to meet your needs, and you can be confident that our engineers are trained in how to correctly install our alarms. We will provide you with a professional installation, regardless of whether it is Smoke, Heat or Carbon Monoxide alarms you are wanting to get installed.

Communal areas

For all your Communal Areas OSG Ltd can support you with the installation of fire alarm systems, ranging from small conventional systems through to multi-panel network addressable systems with complex cause and effect. All works are carried out to the very latest standards applicable, using only open protocol equipment, meaning that you are not tied to using one particular supplier. We also do not place any codes on our systems, so you are free to choose exactly who you want to work on your system in the future.
